AHR 2025

Insights from the Industry’s Biggest Show

Just a couple of weeks ago, the AHR Expo took over Orlando, bringing together some of the biggest players in the HVACR industry. With over 1 million square feet of exhibition space packed with manufacturers and vendors showcasing the latest innovations, it was an incredible event for anyone involved in the industry.
The Stromquist team was on the ground for all three days, and we’re excited to share our key takeaways and standout moments from the show.

AHR 2025: An Industry Powerhouse

One of the biggest highlights of the expo was the sheer scale of what was on display. From small components like duct tape and screws to massive chillers, burners, and even full-scale buildings built specifically for the show, there was no shortage of innovation. If you’ve never attended AHR, it’s a must-see event that showcases the full breadth of the industry.

Beyond the impressive product displays, the people working the booths made the event even more engaging. Their knowledge and enthusiasm were apparent, and it was refreshing to dive into different industry segments beyond our usual focus on controls and automation. Exploring new advancements in tools, residential, and commercial equipment was a great reminder of how much innovation is happening across the board.

Key Trends from AHR 2025

1. A2L Refrigerants & Monitoring Solutions
With regulatory changes and environmental concerns driving the adoption of low-GWP refrigerants, A2L refrigerants were a major focus this year. Manufacturers showcased new monitoring technologies designed to ensure safety and efficiency as the industry transitions to these next-generation solutions. It’s clear that manufacturers are heavily invested in providing safer, more efficient solutions.

2. Changes in OEM Controls for Burners & Boilers
Notable shakeups by Fireye and Siemens in the OEM controls sector for burner and boiler equipment are reshaping the landscape. As companies adjust their offerings and strategies, it will be interesting to see how these changes impact the market in the coming years.

3. IP-Connected Controllers & Equipment
Manufacturers placed a strong emphasis on IP-connected controllers and equipment, showcasing solutions that enhance connectivity, streamline integration, and provide real-time data analytics. These advancements are helping businesses optimize efficiency in ways never seen before.

4. Cloud-Connected Everything
From analytics and dashboards to integration solutions, cloud-connected devices and services have become an industry standard. The focus has shifted from whether cloud solutions will dominate to how effectively companies can leverage them for better performance and efficiency.

5. Cybersecurity in the Spotlight
As cloud-based solutions become more prevalent, cybersecurity has taken center stage. Vendors highlighted products and services aimed at securing connected devices and protecting critical infrastructure from cyber threats. With digital solutions becoming the norm, cybersecurity will only grow in importance.
