New Code for Boiler Rooms
We have recently become aware of a new Georgia code for boiler and mechanical rooms. This code dictates that these rooms require Carbon Monoxide detection equipment along with emergency boiler shut down capabilities. The regulation requires these devices for boilers and water heaters at 200,000 BTUs and above for residential and commercial boilers. To view the Florida codes and requirements, click here. The code is effective as of August 10th, 2021.
In response to this new requirement Stromquist now offers two different kits to satisfy this mandate. These kits contain an ACI CO detector and a controller unit that has audible and visual indication as well as our BSB-1 boiler shutdown button. The only difference between the 2 kits is with the 120v version contains a transformer!

Boiler Shut Down Button
Our Boiler Shutdown button is produced in-house by our Engineered Solutions department. Enclosed in Siemens housing and utilizing their contact blocks and push buttons, this normally closed button is ready to go right out of the box. The button can be used either as a boiler shut down or an emergency stop.
Carbon Monoxide Detection
The B5/Q5 Toxic/Combustible Gas Detectors use various sensing technologies to detect a wide assortment of gases.
